Well.

I went out today to see if I could help with the fact that there's no sun, and I saw this man making lightning and cutting himself, and he was terrorizing the entrance to the underground, so I told him to cut it out. He cut himself and tried to hit me with lightning, but I blocked it, and after I managed to get him somewhere safe where he couldn't hurt anyone else, I noticed that my shield feels right again!

So I guess it just had to be hit by lightning. But the fact that it feels normal makes me a whole lot calmer about this whole thing.

[Pause]

But really, try to use these powers for good, okay? Especially if you have to something terrible to make them work.

I have a different point of view but that's because most of the people in my life that I really cared about are gone and have been so for a very long time. It'd be very stressful explaining that situation to them. I mean, I'd be happy to see them. Don't get me wrong. It'd just be hard at the same time.


What's your best friend like?

Well...Bucky's...he's got a smart mouth. He's really smart, but loyal as a whip. Sometimes he's got a bad temper, but he's a good guy.

I'm sorry about your friends, though.

Bucky? Is that short for something? And no friend is worth having if they're not loyal.

[This, coming from the girl who tries to avoid having friends.]

[If he did show, it'd be amusing to see how much of a smartass he was. Charlie's met worse people so her default reaction would probably be no reaction at all. At most, an eyebrow raise.]

I've been there. Very briefly when I was ten. And it was more a drive through than a visit.

I remember it being kind of crowded. And I wanted to stop and look around but my grandfather and I were on a mission of sorts.

Nothing exciting. [Except that it is.] I had to tell a very important story to an impartial newspaper in hopes of getting some awful people out of my life and in serious trouble.

[And really, the only reason she's even considered telling him is she fears the Memory Theater curse will occur again. That and this guy is ridiculously nice. Which isn't fair. It's hard to not trust someone if they're being polite and nice.]
